Hey Mica, I’ve just got it open in front of me right now! I haven’t thought of putting it up online yet, mainly because it has a lot of personal details that I feel uncomfortable sharing (like my health insurance details) but I can share the broad parameters of how I did it.
I start at the top with how much I earn (my income). Then I list down estimates of my expenses, beginning with the most significant items like rental costs, fuel costs, and so on. It got pretty detailed — to the point that I break down “daily meal costs” and special “cheat meals” for when I want to go all out and enjoy myself.
I’ve got various scenarios — for instance, I’ve got scenario 1: stay single, stay in the same apartment. Scenario 2: same thing except I buy an apartment in 3 years time. Scenario 3: get married, stay in the same apartment. Scenario 4: get married, buy a new apartment in 3 years (and so on).
I have a “capex module” to deal with big-ticket items that I need to buy from time to time like car(s) (assuming I need to replace a car every 7 years), and residential property.
Thank you for reminding me, actually, I just realised that this is horribly out of date and NONE of the scenarios I planned when I did this (2016) came to pass!
