Hi Yuko, I will let you know, thank you! I feel like trying katakana pronunciation — or, indeed, any language I’m unfamiliar with — is one of the great pleasures of travel. To arrive in a country with the vocabulary of a 3-month old, and to then figure out the language, and hopefully leave with the vocabulary of a 2-year old, is a real joy. It’s fun making little mistakes and learning from them, like when I was in Thailand, and made the cook laugh when I asked her confidently for fish sauce to drink instead of water. I will never make that mistake again! :)
