Jim, great to know it’s worked out for you. I think our different observations might be down to the differences in retirement set-up between the US and Malaysia (where I live). Most people don’t get pensions in Malaysia unless they work for the government, so people retire with whatever they have saved up over their working life. And because wages are LOW - my cousin, who’s worked for Intel for 20 years as an engineer still gets less than $2k a month - those savings often don’t amount to much at all.
