I can't completely blame (Western) digital nomads either because so much of this privilege is invisible unless one has thought deeply about it, or has directly faced the consequences of *not* possessing said privilege.
I know I'm definitely very privileged to even consider being a digital nomad once the pandemic lifts. Perusing the Reddit threads and forums, it's no surprise that digital nomads predominantly come from rich Western countries. Because, coming from Malaysia (as I do), there are very few countries in this planet that one would visit to "lower one's cost of living!" Even the cliched DN hubs - Bali and Chiang Mai - have higher costs of living than my hometown.
