Thanks for your encouraging words. I've been thinking of generational issues quite a lot recently. I think Southeast Asia is experiencing it particularly severely given our societies have advanced so quickly in the past few decades.
I can't remember where I read it, but a quote has stuck with me for years about how, in Vietnam, due to the many political upheavals, there are grandparents who think in French, parents who think in Russian, and children who think in Vietnamese.
I believe, but can't confirm, that Singapore has it very seriously as well. Malaysia's got similar generational issues but with different antecedents. For one, we both have working-age adults with serious pressures although from different sources, i.e. Malaysians being trapped in a tightening "middle income trap" and Singaporeans (I think!) feeling the pressure due to the narrow "golden path" to success. I may be over-generalising though....
