This is so true. You reminded me of a guy I met once, some years ago, whose knack was "writing bad English." As in, he could write English with the spelling and grammatical errors common to native speakers of other languages, such that you'd think it was really written by a native Chinese or Arabic speaker, for instance.

He made money by selling spam e-mail templates for Nigerian scammers. You know the type: Nigerian prince wants to send you $100,000. Can't be written too well, or nobody would believe it.

He also earned good money by writing academic papers and dissertations for Chinese and Arabic students. He just needed a few samples of their writing and off he'd go. Their supervisors never realised he was writing their essays for them.

Not the most ethically sound businesses to be in, but it definitely was interesting chatting with him!
