This reminds me of Marx who pointed out, and I am paraphrasing a lot here, that the middle class petite bourgeoisie outwardly resent the haute bourgeoisie because they feel the haute bourgeoisie did not deserve the wealth and power they accrued. Yet, the proletariat should not trust the petite bourgeousie because the latter secretly wishes to replace the haute bourgeoisie and are, thus, no friends of the proletariat. :)
